Break In April 2009Details of the break in have been moved to this page 30th April 2009: Web Site Information 7.00amApologies to anyone who has been trying to use the web site over the past three days. The server at the web site hosting company was damaged and has taken a short while to be repaired. I have now fully re-uploaded the full site.
21st April 1.25pm: Break In Information: Good News! School will reopen tomorrow at normal times for all classes, except Miss Stewart's class who are still scheduled to return on Thursday - as mentioned before the Easter Holiday. Whilst, of course, I'm so sorry for the inevitable inconvenience that has been caused by these events, I am delighted to share with you the fact that the staff have done an amazing job to turn a "bomb site" into a place fit for children to learn again. That having been said, we will be without the use of our Interactive Whiteboards for a while - which is a real shame for the children. We have been host to numerous electricians, suspended ceiling contractors, plasterers, carpenters, painters, and ICT technicians - but we anticipate being in a position to be ready by the end of business today. I can't thank the staff nearly enough for what they have done - and I would also like to thank you all very sincerely for the very many messages of support and help that we have received. They are very much appreciated - its great to know that you value the school so much - thank you very sincerely. I would like to get the message "out there" that, despite having almost all our alarm sensors smashed in the last break in - they have all been replaced as part of our alarm upgrade. Knowsley Security and Police have also increased monitoring of the site. Joe White: Headteacher
20.4.09 10.00am Break In Information: Dear Parents: Today staff are phoning all parents - to inform you that, unfortunately, over the Easter Holidays we have had a very serious break in to school, causing a huge amount of damage throughout the whole building. In truth we have had a number of such incidents, but the last one on Sunday was the worst. Those of us who have been working here for some time agree its the worst break in we have ever had. Staff are currently working to get school into a fit state for use - however given the health and safety problems we have (debris, ceilings down, wires pulled out etc.) the governors and I agree that there is no way we are going to be able to open tomorrow. (Tuesday) With sincere apologies, school will be closed Tuesday 21st April due to damage from the break in There is a doubt about whether it will be possible to open on Wednesday too - so we will try and keep the web site updated to keep you informed. Its impossible to tell at this moment in time - though I don't want to underestimate the condition of the school today - its more like a "bomb site." I will try and get some pictures uploaded later - so you can see some examples for yourselves. Miss Stuart's class were due to return on Thursday, to their new classroom. There is some doubt whether this will be possible - since - as mentioned previously - there have been a number of break ins over the Easter Holiday - which have prevented the builders from making the progress that would have been needed to complete the room. Please keep checking back to this site for more details - and speak to other parents who live locally - especially if they can't access the internet. If any of you have any information about who broke in - please contact Kirkby Police as a matter of urgency. Finally - please keep a close eye out for our school - since there seems to be a repeating pattern about these break ins. If you see anything suspicious around school - again please contact the local police. Thanks very much for your understanding on this most disturbing situation Joe White: Headteacher
